Valencian Cellar Tours                                                                                                                                                                            **  Requena Winery 1/2 Day Tour **   Come with us and discover the wines of Valencia´s "terroir" visiting a leading winery. The D.O Utiel-Requena is the largest,highest (600-900m) and the furthest inland of the Valencian D.O´s possessing great growing conditions. It´s the rising star of the Valencian wine regions collecting more than 70 international awards in 2006. Good vintages and talented vintners have brought the Utiel-Requena region into a new era with elegant, expressive rosés, all conquering cavas, fresh whites and powerful, original reds.  We start with a guided tour of the winery explaining how they make the wines and cava (the Spanish champagne).  After a tour of the bodega & the production hall, we enter the cool cellars of cava and on to the barrel salon, a temple of aging crianzas & reservas. Finally we round off the visit with a tasting of the wines and cava with an opportunity to buy wine from the winery boutique. Wonderful !           Taking a panoramic scenic drive through wine countryside we make a short trip to Requena historic town with a stop for refreshment and a bodega cave visit. We pass by an "artesan" carniceria (sausage, game & meat seller) where it´s possible to try the local embutido; cured sausage with local varieties such as longaniza, güeña and perro should you wish to buy local delicatessen. We confess it´s one of our favourite tapas with a glass of tinto !                    Utiel-Requena with almost 40,000 hectares of vines is the 2nd    largest producer of wine in Spain. Requena is located 65km from Valencia city. Well connected by the autovia it´s a journey of less than an hour by car. We offer tours for 2-8 people directly from Valencia centre in the comfort of quality air-conditioned transport. Our native English speaking chauffeur has a valuable knowledge of the region to make the most of your trip.

Requena is a town rich in history and culture with a tradition of winemaking dating from Phoenician times. The gastronomy is famous for strong, hearty  dishes & its artesan cured sausages, largely prepared by hand using natural ingredients.
